Too hot up at 5:30 to get a little today b4 Wimbledon started.

Watered, went to the farmers market and the store. Barricaded back in to avoid the sun by 10
.
Lost 2 lbs.

Spent 3 hrs. trying to get a reservation in Half moon Bay, I like the nursery there. Usually Caro and I make a loop thru Pescadero or Santa Cruz in one day. Rooms are over 200 dollars and they hike them over the holiday weekend.
After driving 7 hrs yesterday, 3 there 3 back and 1 looking for openings at the 3 other camping spots, I drove home arriving at 11. I really wasn't up for another road trip, crowds and traffic.

great heirloom tomatoes, celery, carrots, corn and beets are great to munch on. at the farmer's market, sunflowers and salsa are yummy not to mention kettle corn, fafallel salad, which makes 2 pitas w an extra pita and dolmas.

San Jose's average rent per month is 1,300 and buying is 2x more, so Forbes says it's better to rent. Considering I'm looking at renting the house out if I get a job some where else, that's good to know.

I was interested in a librarian position at the VA researching PT Stress and working in VT. It would be pretty in the summer spring and fall. I'd have had a problem with the winter. I can go to Tahoe and ski but it's nice to come home. I'd like to go to Monterrey and live closer to the ocean.

It's been so hot I was out cleaning the garage. I have so many teaching files to dump and or organize. If I moved I'd dump them all. I just took the down comforter and flannel sheets off the bed and reversed the flannel sheets with the cotton ones in my linen closet. Why have the other 2 gotten filled with drugs and other stuff when I need more room for sheets and towels and blankets.

I am listing the house or an extra room for rent to occasional visitors on Localo. My listing is called heart of the valley. I just had an inquiry from a couple who r taking their daughter to college in Santa Barbara.
I don't think I can accommodate 3 though. I'd be sleeping on the couch, I once stayed at a b and B and the woman slept in the kitchen. We had her room.
I can get my house clean but my clothes would be in the closet. I've been moving some out to the garage to put in hanging bag. I found a floral shirt mom made for me when I was 16, a tennis dress Cathy made for me and a long green skirt of mom's I wore to Joe's cousin's wedding in Long Island City. NY in a “wedding palace.”

I was out at 5 planting flower seeds, poppies and wildflowers in the front where I took the bushes out, and watering. I did the patio about I when I noticed the tomato wilting. I'd also like to remove or prune back my spider housing bushes more.

Are dried plums really prunes renamed?

I made a smoothie w 1/2 a banana, 1 c strawberries and 1/2 c yogurt this am and a few blueberries. I want to try this Greek yogurt. I got a c. I had a coupon but they didn't carry the brand at Savemart.
Today I actually was up at 9 after a normal night's sleep. I may have gotten in a few hands of bridge at 2 or so but not for long.

I made Kirk's wheat berry bread this morning, some stuffed peppers w red onion, garlic, sausage, rice and tomato sauce and stuffed Portabello mushrooms. I never make that bread the same way twice. Today I soaked the fruit, dates, prunes or dried plums as they call they today and dates in a water slurry to soak, then soaked 2/3 c wheat berries in the same amount of water. Then I made a sponge of yeast, o oil, honey and 1 c wheat flour in the Cuisinart bowl the fruit was in to proof. It usually doesn't proof. Today I looked at the date on the pkg. Kirk gave me. It expired in 2009 so I was ready to toss it. I added wheat gluten, the stuff Wesley is allergic to. The bread is baking now.

It's cooled down enough to use the oven. The fog rolled in. It had burned off now so nice to close the doors and blinds.

We had a real rain storm 2 nights ago very rare In June. Fortunately, even though it was still cool when Ricardo went walking Mon and last night it was OK. I made marinated chicken and veggies and corn to grill before we walked. This weekend John and I am going to Big Sur camping. Hope I can find all my gear. It's been a long time since I slept on the ground. It is due to heat up. They never used to take reservations. Now I see they do. Unfortunately, a week in advance. I put it off to discover this until too late. Hopefully after I see the Dr. we will still be in time to get a site. I usually stay one night and rarely take anyone with me. I like the peace of the ocean and my books. I think I'll marinate some chicken. I actually have some cooked I'd like to take. It's easier just to heat it up. Eggs for breakfast, something for sat, lunch. I thought I'd take fruit and veggies. I was going to try and grill peaches.

Why do I like yellow peaches and nectarines better than white?

Big Sur is spectacular probably my favorite place on earth. The drive is curvy and breath taking. Every time I go I thank the creator for making this, and allowing me to be there then chastise myself for not getting there more. As always, it takes my breath away but... we got there too late to get a site. Usually if there by 2 a site is available. John got there. Host was rude. I got there at 6 host was rude. I drove 3 hrs stayed 2 part of one looking at 3 other sites all full. Drove home at 8. Did watch the sunset on the road. I got home at 11. Talked to John till 1. Tried to find a reservation till 2 crashed.

Spent the morning trying to make reservations in half moon bay. Of course everything is booked and cost near 200 dollars a night.
We just want to relax, sit read, not sun since he had a biopsy for skin cancer and the thing removed, his 2nd. I don't want traffic, but don't want to stay in the heat here either. On Mon. I am having breakfast with my library group for Peggy's b.d.

This is the first time since 1994 there is skiing in the upper Sierra. I once went on father's day on Whistler in B.C., Blackcolm mtn.

It's taken just about 2 hrs to unpack the car. Different things from camping to hotels and dining at the ocean; Stay tuned.
Well it turns out rooms are over 200 dollars most are booked and after 3 hrs I decided to stay put. I hate traffic, noise and crowds.
I crashed at 11:30, still tired from my 7 hr drive. Gee, I used to do that easily and more. I made it across country in 3 days.
This morning I went to the farmers market. Got some great dolmas, a falaffel salad and pita for lunch and dinner and some great peaches, apricots, nectarines, cherries, strawberries, beets, raspberries, and blueberries. I like to crunch on jicima, cauliflower, celery, carrots, and broccoli w humus or talaki.
Lost 2 lbs.
Still unpacking the car.
Spare the air day today, no BBQ's.
Read the paper, took a nap and watered at 5 and 5.
Watched Glory and Training Day.
